South African lotteries: review 2020.05.04-10

How are you doing? We hope all is fine and would like to remind you that there’s no need to leave home while taking part in most lotteries - remote gambling is possible. For now, let’s check the results in South Africa from 4 to 10 May.

There were 2 draws last week (Wednesday, 6 May and Saturday, 9 May). Similarly as the week before, there were no jackpot wins. Unfortunately, this week did not foresee the winners of the 2nd best prize either. The largest prize acquired was the 3rd one (5 correct numbers) - the value of it was either R8,033.5 or R11,497.0. These lottery prizes were won by 24 players in total and the probability of this event was 1 in 75,402.

Powerball was live twice last week: Tuesday (5 May) and Friday (8 May). Even though no one won neither the jackpot, nor the 2nd best prize, we would like to send the nicest words to over 20 players who got the 3rd best prize. This time, the value of such a prize was either R27,702.2 or R40,788.3.

Similarly as Powerball, Powerball Plus draws were live on Tuesday and Friday. The results of Powerball Plus were quite similar, as no one managed to land neither the jackpot nor the 2nd best prize across both draws. Also, 24 people got the 3rd best prize - as in the original version of Powerball, this one is also received for 4 numbers + POWERBALL in your lottery ticket. The overall value of this particular prize varied from R12,040.5 to R15,183.2 last week. In both Powerball lotteries, the chance of winning the 3rd best prize was 1 in 75,402.

Last week’s Lotto Plus 1 games were presented on Wednesday (6 May) and Saturday (9 May). As no one won the jackpot or the 2nd best prize, the best results of Lotto Plus 1 were either R4,197.9 or R4,969.9 for 5 numbers (3rd best prize).

The draws were live on Wednesday and Saturday as well. The results of Lotto Plus 2 were similar to Lotto Plus 1: there were no winners of the jackpot or the 2nd best prize across these draws; however, more than 20 players received the 3rd best prize (5 correct numbers) worth either R4,309.8 or R6,244.8 - well done and best of luck for everyone playing next week!
