South African lotteries: review 2020.04.20-26

Hope you all are doing and feeling well. As the situation remains pretty unclear across the world, it’s amazing that most lotteries don’t even require leaving your own home - remote gambling is possible. Therefore, we are keeping you up with our weekly updates - let’s check the results in South Africa from 20 to 26 April.

There were two draws last week (Wednesday, 22 April and Saturday, 25 April). Even though there were no jackpot wins, 1 player received the 2nd best prize which was worth either R62,021.3 on Wednesday’s draw - congratulations! The chances to win any prizes in this lottery (i.e. at least R20) start at 1 in 72 - therefore, it may be a great idea to try gambling there.

Powerball went live twice last week: Tuesday (21 April) and Friday (21 April). Unfortunately, there were no winners of the main jackpot (5 numbers plus POWERBALL) across both draws as already seen during past weeks. However, we’re happy that 3 players got the 2nd best combination (5 numbers) across both draws. These prizes were worth either R473,006.4 or R281,534.7 - congrats!

Similarly as Powerball, Powerball Plus draws were on air on Tuesday (21 April) and Friday (24 April). No one won the jackpot (5 numbers + POWERBALL) across both draws either. Nevertheless, there were 4 players who scored the 2nd best prize (5 numbers) - congratulations! These prizes were worth either R222,332.8 or R84,862.8. Also, the chance to win this type of prize was the same as in the original Powerball - 1 in 1,286,062.

Lotto Plus 1 was present on Wednesday (22 April) and Saturday (25 April). Similarly as last week, no one won the jackpot. But we would like to congratulate 3 players (1 on Wednesday and 2 on Saturday) with landing the 2nd best prize - this was worth either R112,276.1 or R80,456.7.

The draws of Lotto Plus 2 took place on the same dates as Lotto Plus 1. As already seen last week, the overall results of this lottery were slightly worse as the ones of Lotto Plus 1 - no one won neither the jackpot nor the 2nd best prize. There were some great moments though - it is amazing to see good results for the 3rd best prize (5 correct numbers). 53 players (31 on Wednesday and 22 on Saturday) received the prizes of either R3,109.6 or R6,076.7. The chance of getting these was 1 in 75,402 - so it’s a pretty decent achievement! Congratulations to everyone and best of luck in their future gamblings - maybe we’ll see the radical improvement next week. You may never know!
